    The typical SaaS workflow begins informally. Founders collect customer feedback directly. Roadmaps live in a shared document. Engineering works from loosely defined tickets. Sales pushes urgent requests into Slack. Everyone is close enough to stay aligned through conversation.

    That model works until three structural shifts occur simultaneously:

    1. Team expansion introduces specialization and dependency.

    3. Revenue pressure forces short-term optimization over long-term coherence.
